WYOMING COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT/Wethersfield teen charged after destroying siding of home with a shovel

A domestic dispute led to the arrest of a 14 year old male in the Town of Wethersfield on December 28, 2016.

Wyoming County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the call for a male outside a residence destroying the siding with a shovel.

Upon arrival, deputies found a 14 year old male who had become angry at his family and then became destructive.

The 14 year old male damaged the inside walls of the residence by ripping large holes into the drywall. He then exited the residence and used a shovel to destroy and remove the exterior siding.

The 14 year old male did this while creating large holes in the outside walls which went through to the inside of the residence.

The teen was arrested and charged with the class E felony of criminal mischief 3rd.

He is to appear in the Wyoming County Family Court at a later date to answer the charge.

 

Icy road conditions contributed to a one car motor vehicle accident on East Bethany Road in the Town of Middlebury December 28, 2016.

Carson A. Garwood was driving northbound on East Bethany Road when she lost control on black ice and slid off the roadway.

Garwood’s vehicle slid into a utility pole, and the utility pole struck the passenger side of the vehicle where a passenger, Micheal T. Allen, was seated.

Allen lost consciousness and suffered a shoulder injury, and he was flown by Mercy Flight to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Allen’s injuries were described by medical personnel as non-life threatening.

Medic 80, Warsaw Ambulance, Wyoming Fire Department, and Ott’s Collision assisted Wyoming County Sheriff’s Deputies at the scene.

 

Adan R. Lopez, 27,  was arrested by the United States Border Patrol following a traffic complaint in the Town of Perry on December 23, 2016.

The report of an erratic driver led to the traffic stop on Route 246 in the Town of Perry.

Lopez, a passenger in the vehicle, was then determined to have entered the United States illegally.

Lopez was also found to have already been deported from the country once before.

Lopez was arrested by Wyoming County Sheriff’s Deputies and later turned over to the United States Border Patrol.

 

The Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office investigated a one car motor vehicle accident reported with entrapment and minor injuries on December 29, 2016.

It was determined that Tarah D. Childs, 18, of Rushville, NY, was headed west on Oatka Road when she failed to negotiate the curve at Merchant Road, leaving the west side of the roadway.

Child’s vehicle left the west side of the roadway and overturned, coming to rest on the seasonal section of Merchant Road near Keeney Road.

Childs was assisted with getting out of her vehicle by Warsaw P.D. Officer Nick Wright.

It was determined that Childs lost control due to her speed and the snow covered road conditions.

She was transported to the Wyoming County Community Hospital for treatment of minor injuries and was later released.

Sergeant Tamol was also assisted at the scene by Captain Till, Investigator Mayer, Warsaw Police Department, Warsaw Fire Department and Medic 80.
