LEROY/Pair charged with taking dog from shelter now charged with attempted robbery

Giancarlo A. Miranda, 18, of Clipnock Rd., Stafford, and Haleigh I. Ogden, 19, of East Ave., Batavia were arrested today and charged with attempted robbery 2nd in an incident that occurred at the Kwik Fill gas station in LeRoy on December 12, 2016.

Miranda and Ogden have been in custody since since December 12, 2016 following a report of a suspicious condition.

Miranda and Ogden crashed their car on Keeney road in LeRoy and fled from the scene on foot. They were later found after a search of the area.

At that time, they were charged with burglary 3rd after being found with a dog that was taken from the Genesee County Animal Shelter between December 8th and 9th.

Since December 12, 2016, an investigation found that Miranda and Ogden allegedly went to the Kwik Fill gas station on Main road in LeRoy with intentions of stealing property.

Ogden allegedly displayed what appeared to be a handgun.

The gas station was occupied by an employee at the time, but Miranda and Ogden did not gain entry to the gas station as the door had previously been locked by the employee.

Both were arraigned in LeRoy Town Court and bail for both Miranda and Ogden was set at $15,000 each.

They were then returned to the custody of the Genesee County Jail
