WYOMING COUNTY/Perry fire displaces two families

Six fire companies responded to 71 Covington street in the Village of Perry a little after 3:00 a.m. Friday morning for a house fire.

Two families were displaced in the fire. Autumn Scott and Nathaniel Barnes and one child of 71 Covington and Robert Hall and Brooke Allard and one child of 73 Covington.

The Red Cross is helping the two families

The two family apartment house is owned by Doug and Jennifer Czyryca. The estimated loss is $60,000.

No one was injured in the blaze.

According to Wyoming County Fire investigators, a malfunctioning hot air furnace is to blame for the fire.

Fire crews from Perry, Perry Center, Silver Springs, Castile, Warsaw and Mt. Morris were on scene for about 4 hours.
