ORLEANS COUNTY/Albion woman crashes vehicle while drinking, child in vehicle

On March 17, 2017 at 9:15p.m. the Albion Police Department, Albion Fire Department and COVA Ambulance were dispatched to a one car motor vehicle accident in the area of 301 Hamilton Street in the Village of Albion.
Police units arrived on scene and found that a vehicle that was north bound on Hamilton Street left the east side of the roadway and struck a utility pole.
An investigation revealed that the vehicle was operated by Courtney L. Robertson, 39, of Albion. The investigation also determined that Robertson was intoxicated at the time of the accident and that her 6 year old child was also in the vehicle. It was also determined that Robertson was consuming an alcoholic beverage at the time of the accident.
The child was not injured, but as a precaution was transported to Medina Memorial Hospital by COVA Ambulance to be medically cleared.
Robertson was not injured in the accident and was taken into custody at the scene by the Albion Police.
She is charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, an E-Felony (Leandra’s Law),DWI/misdemeanor, consuming alcohol in a motor vehicle/traffic infraction, operating a motor vehicle w/no seat belt/traffic infraction and moving from a lane unsafely/traffic infraction.

Robertson will appear in the Town of Albion Court on April 11, 2017 at 9:00am.
