WYOMING COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT/Buffalo man charged after stealing vehicle

Giovanni Alvarez, 32, of Buffalo was arrested following an investigation into a stolen motor vehicle in the Hamlet of Bliss on March 19, 2017.

The Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office responded to Main Street in Bliss following the report of a vehicle being stolen during the day.

Alvarez was believed to be the suspect of the larceny and thought that he may have driven the vehicle home to Buffalo. The Buffalo Police Department assisted in the investigation and located the stolen vehicle on East Street in the city.

Buffalo Police located Alvarez and arrested him without incident.

He is charged with grand larceny 4th, a class E felony.

Alvarez was turned over to the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office and arraigned in the Town of Eagle Court where he was remanded to the Wyoming County Jail on $2,000 cash bail and $4,000 bond.

Alvarez will answer the charges at a later date.

 

Gary Illerbrun, 52, of Perry, was arrested in the Village of Perry following a traffic stop by the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office on March 17, 2017.

Illerbrun was stopped for throwing refuse onto a highway and was subsequently determined to be intoxicated.

Illerbrun was transported to the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office where he supplied a breath sample and was found with a BAC of 0.10%.

Illerbrun is charged with throwing refuse onto a highway, DWI, and driving with a BAC of .08 or more.

He was released and will appear in the Village of Perry Court on April 11, 2017.
