WYOMING COUNTY/Perry/ Castile man receives paychecks for no services rendered in tutoring of Perry student

 

Jason W. Anderson, 39, of Castile, was arrested today, April, 10, 2017 at 11:00 a.m., after an investigation into funds that he was receiving from the Perry School District in exchange for tutoring services.

Officer Blake Russell of the Perry Police Department, along with assistance from the New York State Police, arrested Anderson on 25 felony counts including grand larceny 3rd, a class D felony, defrauding the government, a class E felony and 23 separate counts of offering a false instrument for filing in the first degree, a class E felony.

Anderson was supposed to be tutoring a student from the Perry School District, but was instead receiving paychecks for no services rendered. It is estimated that Anderson received over $4,000.00 from the school between October 2016 and March 2017.

Anderson was arraigned in front of Hon. Judge Miller and committed to Wyoming County Jail on $3,000.00 cash and $15,000.00 bond. He will return to court on June 20, 2017 at 1:00 p.m.
