ATTICA POLICE REPORT/Dispute with truck driver leads to charges for a village man

The Attica Police Department responded to a report of damage to a 2007 Volvo tractor belonging to Walton Milk Hauling Inc. while it was parked at an apartment building on Lincoln Avenue in the Village of Attica on April 17, 2017.

An investigation revealed that a tenant of the apartment building, who allegedly had a longstanding dispute with the truck driver, had damaged the vehicle.

The truck operator reported that several airlines, the wiring harness, brake lines and an air bag had been cut and or damaged.

Arrested and charged is Nathan W. Burry, 20, of Lincoln Avenue, Attica.

He is charged with criminal mischief 3rd, an E felony, criminal tampering 3rd and reckless endangerment to property, both misdemeanors.

The damages have been estimated in excess of $1,800.00.

Burry was arraigned in Attica Village Court before Justice Perry and was released on recognizance and then released to the Wyoming County Department of Probation and Correctional Alternatives.

He will return to Village of Attica Court on Monday, June 12, 2017 at 10:00 a.m.

 

On April 21, 2017 at approximately 11:43 p.m., David Eck Jr., 24, of Bunnell St., Attica, was found asleep in the driver’s seat of his vehicle while it was running.

An investigation into the incident lead officers to arrest Eck for DWAI/drugs and DWAI/drugs combination.

Eck is to appear in the Village of Attica Court on June 12, 2017 to answer the charges.

The Attica Police Department was assisted by the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office.

 

The Attica Police Department originally stopped Jemeel J. Moody, 25, of Lisbon St., Buffalo, for excessive speed on West Main Street in the Village of Attica on April 22, 2017.

Further investigation revealed Moody’s license to be suspended 5 times on 4 dates for failure to appear and failure to pay fine.

Moody was taken into custody without incident and arraigned in Attica Justice Court before Justice Perry.  Bail was set at $2,500.00 cash, $5,000.00 bond.

Moody was committed to Wyoming County Jail.

He is set to appear in Attica Village Court on June 12, 2017 at 10:00 a.m.
