Perry Police Report/Gainesville man accused of being under the influence of drugs after going through stop sign

On April 25, 2017 at 12:30p.m., Officer Ferry observed a gray Ford Taurus go through the 5 corners intersection failing to stop at the stop sign.

A vehicle and traffic stop was then performed.

During the investigation ,the vehicle operator, John Dumbleton, 28, of Gainesvill, was asked to exit the vehicle and perform field sobriety tests under the suspicion that he was under the influence of drugs.

Dumbleton failed field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest for driving while ability impaired by drugs.

Sergeant Colin Reagan, a Drug Recognition Expert from the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office, was called to assist.

It was Sergeant Reagan’s expert opinion that Dumbleton was under the influence of depressants and could not operate a vehicle safely.

Dumbleton was processed and released to sober third party.

He is to return to Perry Village court on June 20, 2017.
