Genesee County/Couple makes it a family affair at new diner in the Village of Corfu

Wade and Tracy Toy want you leave their family diner with a full stomach and a full wallet.

With five children ages 15-23, the Toys understand what it’s like to take a large family out to eat. Expensive.

“I have always wanted to have a small place like this to make people happy and keep prices down,” says Wade Toy, Co-owner of Three T’s Family Diner at 2 Corfu Plaza at Rt. 33 and 77(behind the car wash)

Wade Toy quit driving truck at the beginning of the year and with the help of his family, they cleaned and renovated the former restaurant that was last open to customers in the Village of Corfu five years ago.

“There was a lot of water damage,” says Wade.

“Our family spent lots of hours here remodeling and everything is new and it turned out the way we wanted it for our dream.”

The Toys found the location on Craigslist and the whole family spent many hours working on the place since January. The Diner just opened last weekend.

“It has been hectic,” says Tracy.

“It’s a lot different than catering,” which the couple still does.

“We are just trying to go out and allow a family to get a good meal and still be able to take their kids to a movie or something instead of either picking the meal or the movie,” says Tracy Toy, Co-owner of Three T’s Family Diner.

The Three T’s Special is a burger topped with onion rings, pulled pork, BBQ sauce and bacon cheese.

“If customers have any ideas for what they want on the menu they can leave us a suggestion and we will gladly put it on our specials menu.”

One of the first customers asked for chipped beef and gravy to be added this past week. Wade says next week it will be the special.

Jan Golding and her grandson, 5 year old Brody Warchocki, hopped on their bikes and grabbed some lunch together Friday afternoon.

“It’s nice to be right here in the village, not many places to go now unless you want to get in your car and drive,” says new customer Jan Golding.

“It’s nice, my husband and I miss coming here for breakfast, I’m sure they will see us here for breakfast on weekends.”

Wade says they already have some repeat customers in their first week.

“What we noticed over the last week is that we have not been getting a lot of customers, but we are getting a lot of return customers. We have an older couple that comes down from Bergen and they have been here four of the days. Bunch of people from the village have been coming back too, it’s a good thing, that just shows we must be doing something right and the food must be good and the prices must be good”

The Toys came up with The Three T’s Family Diner, naming it after mom, dad and the kids.

They serve breakfast, lunch and dinners all day.

They are open Monday-Sunday 8:00a.m.-3:30p.m., closed Wednesday, accepting cash only. You can also call in for take out by calling 716-260-7535.

They are located behind the Country Falls Car wash where there is also lots of parking for trucks and buses.

“We don’t want you to come in for food and get out, we want to know everybody, kinda like a family environment, just like it was 30 years ago,” says Tracy.
