PERRY POLICE REPORT/Man jailed after picking up dead wife’s drugs at pharmacy

 

Burke M. Hawkins, 53, North Center St., of Perry, was arrested on August 10, 2017 following an investigation into prescription medication that he had picked up from Rite Aid intended for his wife after she had passed away.

Hawkins is charged with three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance for picking up the following medications; Hydromorphone, Diazepam, and Alprazolam.

Hawkins was arraigned in front of Honorable Judge Miller and jailed on $5,000.00 cash bail until his court date of September 12, 2017 at 1:00 p.m..

 

 

Joey M. Safford, 48, of Walker Rd., Perry was arrested on August 10, 2017 after the vehicle he was operating was found to be displaying a forged inspection sticker.

Safford was processed and released with a future court date of September 5, 2017 at 4:00 p.m..
