GENESEE COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT/Byron man arrested on bench warrant, facing additional charges

Jacob J. Russell, 21,of Byron, is charged with criminal sale of a controlled substance 3rd and criminal possession of a controlled substance 3rd, both class B felonies, and was also charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th, a class A misdemeanor, after he was arrested on Tuesday afternoon by members of the Genesee County Local Drug Task Force after the execution of a bench warrant that was issued by the Town of Byron Court.

During the arrest, Russell was allegedly found in possession of heroin. The investigation also revealed that Russell allegedly gave a quantity of heroin to another person.

Russell was arraigned in Byron Town Court and jailed on $50,000 cash bail.

 

Chad E. Alwardt, 37, of Byron, is charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th, a class A misdemeanor, after he was arrested Tuesday afternoon by members of the Genesee County Drug Task Force on a bench warrant issued out of Genesee County Court.

Alwardt was being taken into custody and was allegedly found to be in possession of heroin.

Alwardt is currently being held in the Genesee County Jail and will appear in  Byron Town Court on September 11, 2017.

 

 

Lindsay Goins, 61, of State St., Batavia, is charged with falsely reporting an incident to a police officer on September 5, 2017 after an incident on State street.

Goins was arraigned and released under the supervision of Genesee Justice.
