Genesee County District Attorney Lawrence Friedman announced that on January 1, 2018, Assistant District Attorney Melissa L Cianfrini will be promoted to the re-established position of First Assistant District Attorney.
Cianfrini has been with the District Attorney’s Office for almost eight years and has been a litigating attorney for 18 years.
Friedman says he is very pleased with the initiative, work ethic and legal skills demonstrated by Cianfrini. Those in the criminal justice community have given Friedman nothing by positive feedback about her performance as a Prosecuting Attorney.
Friedman says he is confident that his office and the community will continue to be well served by First Assistant District Attorney Cinafrini.
Friedman thanked County Manager Jay Gsell and the County Legislature for re-instating the position.
