U.S. Navy Sailors from the new USS Little Rock made a special visit to veteran patients at the Batavia VA Saturday.
The sailors visited veterans and toured the Batavia VA for about 2 hours.
Veteran Jenny Carter served in the Navy and spoke briefly with three of the Sailors as they passed through the halls.
The nine USS Little Rock Sailors are part of a crew of 70 who are currently docked at Canalside in Buffalo at the Naval Park.
They are getting the ship ready for sea and are in the area for two weeks. They will take part in a Commissioning Ceremony in Buffalo at the Naval Park on December 16, 2017. The ship is docked alongside the retired USS Little Rock which is permanently located the park.
