GENESEE COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT/Inmate at jail charged after altercation with another inmate

Michael P. Carey, 32, of Main St., Batavia, is charged with criminal obstruction of breathing or circulation after an investigation into a physical altercation at the Genesee County Jail on December 1, 2017.

Carey allegedly did intentionally impede the normal breathing or circulation of another inmate.

Carey was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in City Court on January 3, 2018 at 9:00a.m.

 

 

Edward J. White, 22, of Michigan St., Lockport, is charged with possessing dangerous contraband while confined 1st, after an investigation/complaint at the Genesee County Jail on December 26, 2017.

While incarcerated at the jail, White allegedly did make and possess dangerous contraband in the form of a quantity of an alcoholic beverage.

White was issued an appearance ticket and will appear in City Court on January 3, 2018.

He will continue to be held on unrelated charges.

 

Benito A. Gay, 29, of Vine St., Batavia, is charged with DWAI/drugs, unlawful possession of marijuana, unlicensed operator and obstructed plate after a traffic stop on College road in Batavia on December 28, 2017.

Gay was issued appearance tickets and will appear in the Town of Batavia Court on February 26, 2018.

 

Michaela R. Leach, 18, of Transit Rd., Pavilion, is charged with trespass after allegedly entering and remaining on the property at 8170 Batavia Stafford Townline road in Batavia on December 6, 2017.

Leach was told four days earlier not to return to the property.

Leach was released on an appearance ticket and will appear in the Town of Batavia Court on January 8, 2018 at 1:00p.m.
