On January 17, 2018, the Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) out of State Police Warsaw arrested Joann Thompson, 53, of Wyoming, NY, for official misconduct and sex abuse 2nd degree
Thompson was charged following an investigation from September 2017 into an unlawful personal relationship with an inmate while employed as a civilian employee at Attica Correctional Facility.
Thompson was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Attica Court.
This case was a joint investigation by the New York State Police and the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision Office of Special Investigations.
