BATAVIA POLICE REPORT/Craigslist scammer facing charges in separate incident

Jaequele M. Tomlin, 23, of Central Ave., Batavia, has been charged with assault 3rd and criminal mischief 4th in a domestic incident where he allegedly was involved in a physical altercation with another person during a domestic incident in Batavia on November 20, 2017.

Tomlin also damaged property belonging to that person.

Last week, Tomlin and Quamane J. Santiago, 19, of Main Rd., Stafford were arrested on Sumner Street in Batavia on the charge of  conspiracy 4th.

It is alleged that Tomlin and Santiago posted a false “Vehicle for Sale” ad on Craigslist with the intent to rob any would be buyers. Concerned citizens alerted police to the post and the suspects’ suspicious behavior. They were taken into custody by members of the Batavia Police Department and the Genesee County Drug Task Force. During their apprehension, both suspects were found to be in possession of replica firearms.

Tomlin was remanded to the Genesee County Jail on the additional charges and appeared in City Court on January 19, 2018.

 

 

Winston A. Lockhart Sr., 22, of Hutchins St., Batavia, is charged with assault 3rd, intent to cause physical injury, aggravated criminal contempt, violation of order of protection, causing physical injury, criminal mischief, intent to damage property, burglary, and strangulation 2nd after an incident on Holland avenue on January 16, 2018.

Upon Police arrival, Lockhart had left the scene. He was located at the Genesee County Court and then placed under arrest.

Lockhart Sr. was arraigned in City Court and held on no bail.

He re-appeared in court on January 17, 2018.

 

 

 

Matthew J. Wesolowski, 23, of Burrough Rd., Cowlesville, NY, is charged with aggravated unlicensed operation 3rd, unregistered vehicle and unlawful possession of marijuana after a traffic stop at 40 Liberty Street on January 18, 2018.

Wesolowski was found to be operating a motor vehicle with a a suspended NYS driver’s license and a expired registration.

He was arraigned in City Court and jailed in lieu of $250 bail.

Wesolowski will re-appear in court on January 25, 2018.

 

 

Michael D. Smith, 18, of Pearl St. Rd., Batavia, is charged with DWI, driving with a BAC of .08% or more and no/inadequate headlights after a traffic stop at 131 W. Main St.on January 16, 2018.

Smith was released on uniform traffic tickets and will appear in City Court on February 14, 2018 at 9:00a.m.
