STATE POLICE REPORT/Batavia man arrested after police pursuit

Maurice G. Leach, 41, of Batavia, is charged with reckless driving, use of a vehicle without an interlock device, aggravated unlicensed operation, 3 suspensions, fleeing an officer in a motor vehicle 3rd, acting in a manner injurious to a child under 17, unlawful possession of marijuana and resisting arrest, after a police pursuit in the Town of Batavia that ended at R. Stephen Hawley Drive and Bank street at 8:42p.m. February 1, 2018.

Leach was held on cash bail.

Police pursuit
A vehicle that refuses to pull over for police and is all over the road has finally pulled over at Bank street and Steven Hawley Drive.
The vehicle is a black Ford Fusion, it would not pull over for police who were attempting to stop the vehicle on Rt. 33.
At one point, the vehicle went off the road on Prole road extension, then came back onto the road and continued on Batavia Stafford Townline road, going through the stop sign and down Stephen Hawley Drive to Bank street where it finally stopped.
Police are out with the vehicle.}

 

An 18 year old male of  Holley, NY, is charged with use of a child under 17 in a sex performance, obscene sex performance by a child under 17 and possession of obscene sex performance by a child, all are felonies.

The teen was arrested on February 1, 2018 for an incident that occurred October 4, 2017 in Pavilion.

 

Daniel L. Schmigel, 32, of Basom, is charged with criminal possession of a weapon 3rd, assault rifle and criminal possession of a weapon 3rd, ammo clip, both felonies, after an incident in the Town of Alabama on January 28, 2018.

He was arrested on February 1, 2018 in the City of Batavia at the Genesee County Jail.

Schmigel was held on cash bail.

 

 

John S. Hibbard, 22, of Lyndonville, is charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th and unlawful possession of marijuana in the village of Lyndonville on Miller drive on February 2, 2018.

Hibbard was issued an appearance ticket.

 

 

Tyler J. Cornelius, 25, of Lyndonville, is charged with DWI, driving with a BAC of .08% or more and no/inadequate plate lamp after a traffic stop on Miller drive in Lyndonville on February 2, 2018.

Cornelius was issued an appearance ticket.
