GENESEE COUNTY/BATAVIA DOWNS 2nd ANNUAL SUMMER CONCERT SERIES LINEUP ANNOUNCED

BATAVIA – Batavia Downs Gaming & Hotel has announced the lineup for their 2nd annual Rockin’ the Downs concert series, with 8 consecutive Friday dates, an increase over last year’s 6 shows.

Kicking off the series on Friday, June 22nd is return of the money man, Eddie Money. With over 28 million records sold, Eddie rocked the Downs last summer with massive hits including Baby Hold On, Two Tickets to Paradise, Think I’m in Love, Shakin’, Take Me Home Tonight, and I Wanna Go Back.

Next up, on Friday, June 29th are rock band Grand Funk Railroad. Originating from Flint, Michigan in 1969, GFR has now accumulated 13 gold and 10 platinum records with record sales in excess of 25 million copies sold worldwide. Original Band Members Don Brewer and Mel Schacher have been delighting fans with hits like An American Band and Some Kind of Wonderful for over 40 years.

Friday, July 6th sees Blue Oyster Cult make their Batavia Downs debut. Known for their songs, (Don’t Fear) The Reaper and Burnin’ for You, this rock band will cure you if you’ve got a fever for more cowbell.

A pair of Canadian Rock Legends hit the stage on Friday, July 13th with Rik Emmett of the Band Triumph along with Carl Dixon of Coney Hatch. Emmett helped pen such legendary songs as Lay it on the Line and Somebody’s Out There. Dixon co-wrote hits like Hey Operator and Devil’s Deck.

Rumours – a Fleetwood Mac Tribute performs on Friday, July 20th. Hailing from Atlanta, GA, Rumours captures the energy of Fleetwood Mac at the height of their career by blending perfect harmonies, precise instrumentation, and a visually engaging stage show. Playing to sold out audiences all over the country, Rumours has earned its place as one of the top tribute bands around today.

Friday, July 27th sees American Alternative Rock Band, Puddle of Mudd at the Downs. The post-grunge band from Kansas City Missouri has sold over 7 million albums. Concert goers will be sure to hear hits such as She Hates Me, Blurry and Control.

Legendary Rock Band Three Dog Night will rock the Downs on Friday, August 3rd. Founding member Danny Hutton takes pride in performing their hit filled concerts with songs like Mama Told Me Not to Come, Joy to the World, and Old Fashioned Love Song. Concert goers will be sure to see and hear why the band has had 21 consecutive Top 40 hits with tens of millions of records sold.

Closing out the series is Grammy Award winning Country Artist Lee Ann Womack. Known for her Number #1 hit, I Hope You Dance, as well as A Little Past Little Rock and I May Hate Myself in the Morning, Womack had delighted audiences for over 20 years and sold over 6 Million albums worldwide.
Tickets for all eight concerts will be available at www.BataviaConcerts.com beginning at 10am on Friday, February 16th. Individual tickets to each concert will remain at $10 for General Admission while VIP tickets will again be $25. Tickets can also be purchased in-person at Batavia Downs Gaming & Hotel at their “Lucky Treasures” Gift Shop located in the lobby. New this year is a “Season Pass” that includes a single ticket good for each concert for a discounted rate. Prices are $60 for General Admission and $150 for VIP.
