Heather Ace, 25, of Stafford, pleaded guilty to one count of endangering the welfare of a child after accepting a plea deal in the Town of Batavia Court on Monday morning.
Ace, who was visibly upset during the court appearance, admitted to leaving her two 2 year old twin boys locked in a bedroom for an extended period of time without supervision.

While Ace was away from the residence, a structure fire occurred claiming the life of Ace’s two children Micah and Michael.
Police say the fire originated either inside of or in close proximity to their bedroom.
The cause of the fire remains undetermined.
The Sheriff’s Office says Ace left her children alone for about 90 minutes without providing or arranging for supervision for the children.
According to court documents, Ace left the children locked in their bedroom to purchase weed and visit friends.
Ace could face as little as a fine or as much as one year in jail when she is sentenced May 22, 2017.
