Nichole Dacey, 30, of Water St., Perry is charged with endangering the welfare of a child, criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th, criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument, uninspected motor vehicle, unlicensed operator, aggravated unlicensed operation 3rd, DWAI/Drugs and aggravated DWI with a child less than 16 years old/Leandra’s Law after a traffic stop on North Center street on March 29, 2017 for driving with an expired inspection.
After an investigation, it was discovered that Dacey’s license was suspended in 2015. After a search of the vehicle, police discovered a hypodermic instrument and a package containing heroin.
At that time, a 5 year old child was also located in the vehicle.
The child’s mother, Jessica Ruch, no age or address provide, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was also charged with endangering the welfare of a child less than 17 and criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Deputy Aaron Chase of the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office, a certified drug recognition expert, administered an evaluation of Dacey. According to Deputy Chase, Dacey could not safely operate a motor vehicle and was under the influence of cannabis.
Dacey was arraigned in Perry Village Court and he was jailed on $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond bail.
Child protective services was also contacted due to the child being in the vehicle while Dacey was under the influence of a drug.
The child was turned over to her mother Jessica Ruch, who was placed in custody and then given an appearance ticket to appear in Village Court on April 11, 2017.
A Medina man was arrested again for violating an order of protection. Benishio Coger was arrested on March 9, 2017 for criminal contempt 2nd.
On March 30, 2017, a Social Services worker was paying a visit when she observed Coger jump out of a second story balcony in his boxer shorts at a residence of a female he was barred from having contact with.
A short time later, NYS Parks Police had placed Coger in custody on another matter and Coger was arrested at the Wyoming County Jail for criminal contempt 2nd.
Coger will appear in Perry Village Court at a later date.
