On April 11, 2017, Wyoming County Sheriff’s responded to Route 78, Town of Sheldon, the Red Apple, for a report of a male subject that was passed out in the driver’s seat of a car in the parking lot.
Upon arrival, Blake Cooper,20, of Java, NY, was responsive.
Deputy Sampson observed three hypodermic instruments (syringes) along with suspected heroin baggies on and around Cooper in plain view.
Strykersville Ambulance, along with Medic’s checked Copper out for health concerns.
Cooper signed off on any further medical treatment.
Cooper was administered sobriety tests and failed.
He was brought back to the Wyoming County Sheriff’s office where further testing by a Drug Recognition Expert was completed and found Cooper to be under the influence of heroin.
Cooper is charged with possession of a hypodermic instrument, criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th and driving while ability impaired by drugs. He will answer the charges on May 22, 2017 in Sheldon Town Court.
