The Sons & Mothers Mud Run event has grown since it began 5 years ago.
On Friday night, 300 mothers and sons from John Kennedy’s 2nd-4th grade classes met in the mud to have some fun and share a few laughs.
Principal Paul Kesler volunteered for the dunk tank and the City of Batavia Fire Department was on hand with a steady waterfall to help rinse everyone off afterwards.
“We are really happy with this event,” says Sarah Gahagan, Coordinator of Sons & Mothers Mud Run.
“It is tons of fun for moms and sons because you don’t get to do some things with just your son.”
The event was free and fundraising from the community helped support the Mud Run.
30 volunteers from the Stellar Student program at the Middle School and High School also helped out during the 90 minute event.
“It’s nice for the community to do this, they have a ton of fun.”
