Four people were arrested following a one car motor vehicle accident on Silver Lake Road in the Town of Covington on October 12, 2017.
Jessica L. Sprague was driving a 2013 Ford F150 southbound on Silver Lake Road when she failed to negotiate the intersection with Old State Road. Sprague drove the vehicle off the roadway and down a steep thirty foot embankment where the vehicle collided with the ground and trees. A passenger in Sprague’s vehicle suffered two broken ribs from the accident.
Sprague performed poorly on standardized field sobriety testing, and was taken into custody for Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs. Sprague was also found to have only a learner’s permit which was suspended. Heroin, hydrocodone, and marihuana were all located at the scene. A NYS certified Drug Recognition Expert from the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office performed a drug influence evaluation on Sprague and found her to be impaired by multiple drug categories. The vehicle occupants were charged as follows:

- Unlicensed Operator
- Moved From Lane Unsafely
HOLDEN P. FAULKNER, AGE 29, ALLEGANY, NY
- Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree (Heroin)
ROBERT D. SAUNDERS, AGE 34, BOLIVAR, NY
- Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree (Hydrocodone)
STORMY L. MCENTIRE, Age 25 BELMONT, NY
- Unlawful Possession of Marihuana
Sprague and Faulkner were arraigned in the Town of Covington Court where bail was set for both in the amount of $500.00 cash or $2,500.00 bond. They are scheduled to return to the Town of Covington Court on January 22, 2018 for further proceedings.
Saunders and McEntire were issued appearance tickets and will answer the charges in the Town of Covington Court at a later date.
