GENESEE COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT/Lackawanna man arrested in “smash and grab” burglaries

The Genesee County Sheriff’s Office has arrested Phillip S. Muzzy Jr., of Lackawanna, for his involvement in the “smash and grab” burglaries at Crosby’s and Pavilion Farms gas stations in Pavilion that occurred on October 22, 2017.

Muzzy is charged with two counts of burglary 3rd, criminal mischief 2nd, criminal mischief 3rd and grand larceny 4th.

Muzzy was arraigned in Pavilion Town Court and bail was set at $15,000 cash and $20,000 bond.

Muzzy is currently incarcerated at the Erie County Holding Center after he was arrested on October 28, 2017 after a vehicle stop in Elma, NY. Sheriff’s investigators in Erie County were staking out a location at an Elma convenient store when they spotted Muzzy and another suspect James Trala, 30, of Depew.

After the traffic stop, investigators discovered evidence from recent burglaries inside the vehicle.

The suspects used a brick to smash glass doors to make entry to the convenient stores/gas stations.

In Erie County, Muzzy is charge with felony counts of burglary, criminal mischief 2nd and grand larceny 4th and is being held on $5,000 bail . He also has an outstanding Family Court warrant.

The subjects stole lottery tickets, cigarettes, cash and cash donations from a breast cancer awareness collection box according to the Erie County Sheriff’s Office.

 

William G. Schultz Sr., 43, homeless, of Batavia, is charged with petit larceny after a shoplifting complaint at Wal-mart on December 6, 2017.

Schultz was arriagned in Town of Batavia Court and jailed on $250 cash bail or $2,000 bond. He will re-appear on December 18, 2017.

He was also arrested on a Family Court warrant issued out of Genesee County. He was also arraigned on the warrant and was jailed on $750 cash bail and $2,000 bond. He will appear in Family Court on December 8, 2017.
