In the last meeting of the season, nothing more than bragging rights were on the line.
Notre Dame came out on top behind the hustle of Jedidiah Reese on Saturday afternoon at Falleti Ice Arena.
Reese ended the regular season with a hat trick , followed by two goals from Senior Hayden Chamberlain.
After a Senior Recognition Ceremony for the Irish, who will be graduating 9 seniors this year, the two teams hit the ice.
Reese started out the scoring at 13:25 of the first period and added a second at 7:30 in the 1st. Ethan Hutchins then gave the Irish a 3-0 lead at the end of the period.
In the 2nd, the Ice Devils offense came alive with about five minutes left in the period. Noah Martin scored a goal and Kevin Tourt scored a second goal with 3:10 left in the period. The Ice Devils were down 3-2 at the end of the 2nd.
Chamberlain put an end to any ideas of an Ice Devil comeback scoring with 7 minutes left in the 3rd to make it 4-2.
With an empty net and some extra effort, Reese scored his third goal of the afternoon while sliding headfirst towards the crease and directing the puck into the empty net.
At the buzzer, Chamberlain added one more and the Irish went on to win 6-2.
Notre Dame finishes the regular season 13-7-1 and will travel to Canandaigua next week for a sectional game.
The Ice Devils ended their season 1-17-2.
