WYOMING COUNTY/Wyoming Community Hospital Foundation receives grant award

Press release

Warsaw, NY, March 14, 2018 – The Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo awarded a $101,678.36 grant from the William F. Thiel Trust to the Wyoming Community Hospital Foundation for the purchase of a surgical table and Panda infant warmer for use at Wyoming County Community Health System (WCCHS).

The new operating room table will be capable of servicing all of WCCHS’s surgical service needs. The table has enhanced orthopedic adaptions to facilitate the different positioning requirements for various orthopedic procedures including but not limited to shoulder arthroscopy, rotator cuff repairs, hip pinning, troch nail, anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) repairs, etc. The table will also function as a general operating room table and will be used for various procedures including general surgeries, gynecological surgeries, and ear, nose, and throat surgeries.

The Panda warmer has been placed into service and provides WCCHS with an updated newborn infant care station for the newborn nursery. The Panda warmer provides a temperature controlled environment in each of WCCHS’s birthing rooms and at times when a newborn may require prolonged stabilization, intervention, and monitoring in the nursery. The Panda warmer is a mobile resuscitation station and provides ability to monitor all vital signs, delivery of blended oxygen, a scale to weigh the infant, and monitor weight loss/gain.

The financial support provided from the William F. Thiel Trust for this state-of-the-art equipment directly benefits Wyoming County and surrounding residents who have surgery and newborns at WCCHS.
