Ten companies from 9 different schools participated in the ACE Virtual Business Trade Fair today at GCC.
The program, in it’s 15th year, allows students to run a virtual company so they are learning how to develop a product line, do sales, marketing and payroll.
“They do everything for the company,” says Debbie Dunlevy, Career Pathways Project Director at GCC.
“It really is a student driven program as opposed to the teacher teaching. The teacher facilitates.”
The student’s companies have a CEO, CFO and accountants.
“Your success or failure is a lot of whether the students are motivated to work.”
“Its great to see students come together and work as a team.”
Teams were judged based on the dollar amount of sales they have taken in, number of transactions, their booth presentation, their marketing campaign and strategy and their salesmanship.
