BATAVIA POLICE REPORT/A resident at the DePaul housing complex accused of pulling fire alarm twice

Jonathan P. Balaz, 41, of 555 East Main St., Batavia, is charged falsely reporting an incident 2nd, after intentionally pulling a fire alarm box at the DePaul Housing Complex at 555 East Main street and causing an emergency response by the City of Batavia Fire Department on two occasions.

Balaz allegedly pulled the alarm on March 28, 2018 at 12:43p.m. and again on March 30, 2018 at 9:17p.m..

Balaz was arraigned in the Town of Batavia Court and remanded on bail on the second alarm pull and was issued an appearance ticket on the first alarm pull.  He will appear in City Court on April 2, 2018 at 1:30p.m. to answer the charges.

 

Dawn M. Orlando, 48, of Wood St., Batavia, is charged with harassment 2nd following an incident where she allegedly struck another person at a Hutchins Street address on March 25, 2018.

Orlando was issued an appearance ticket and will appear in City Court on April 10, 2018 at 1:00p.m.

 

 

Marcus L. Speed, 30, of Hawthorne Ct., Elmira, NY, was arrested on an arrest warrant out of City Court for failure to appear on March 21, 2018.

Speed was remanded  to the Genesee County Jail on $1,000 cash or bond bail and appeared in City Court on March 30, 2018.

 

 

Walter B. Hale Jr.,40, of East Ave., Batavia, was arrested on a warrant out of City Court on a charge of criminal contempt 2nd from September of 2017.

Hale was processed and released after posting cash bail.

He will appear in City Court on April 3, 2018 at 1:00p.m.
