Jamie J. Wolfanger was remanded to the Wyoming County Jail without bail following a traffic stop on West Buffalo Street in the Village of Warsaw on April 18, 2018.
Wyoming County Sheriff’s Deputies were assisting the Warsaw Police Department on a traffic stop. During this unrelated traffic stop, deputies observed an eastbound Chrysler minivan on West Buffalo Street. As the minivan was traveling through the school zone on West Buffalo Street, deputies observed as it drove off the roadway and into the grass. The vehicle then swerved back onto the roadway and continued eastbound. Deputies successfully stopped the vehicle as it passed the initial traffic stop.
Jamie J. Wolfanger, 34, of Dansville, was the driver and only occupant of the minivan and he was found to be driving with only a NYS Identification Card which was revoked or suspended fourteen times since 2004. Wolfanger was suspended in 2004 following a driving while ability impaired by drugs conviction, and he was since suspended the additional times for multiple reasons.
Pursuant to a vehicle search, marihuana was located inside the vehicle.
Wolfanger performed poorly on field sobriety testing, and he then underwent a drug influence evaluation by a certified Drug Recognition Expert from the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office. Wolfanger was determined to be impaired by a drug and unable to operate a vehicle safely.
He is charged with aggravated unlicensed operation 1st , a class E felony, Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, aggravated unlicensed operation 3rd, unlicensed operator, moving from a lane unsafely, and unlawful possession of marihuana.
Wolfanger was arraigned in the Town of Warsaw Court and committed to the Wyoming County Jail without bail He is scheduled for further court action on May 21, 2018.
