WYOMING COUNTY/Bennington fire causes $10,000 in damages

A reported chimney fire late Saturday afternoon at 62 North Shore Drive in the Town of Bennington has caused $10,000 in damages according to the Wyoming County Office of Emergency Services.

Fire crews from 7 departments responded to the residence of Daniel Krebs and Megan Miskey about 5:03p.m. and found the cause of the fire to be a faulty wood stove vent pipe.

No one was injured and fire crews from Cowlesville, Bennington, Harris Corners, Alden, Marilla, Alexander and Crittenden were on scene for about 2 1/2 hours.

The occupants of the residence will be staying with family until repairs are made.

Also assisting on scene, Wyoming County Emergency Services, Cowlesville Squad 10, Wyoming Correctional and NYSEG.
