Over 50 mourners including family and friends gathered at the site on Central avenue where Terry Toote died after being stabbed on Thursday night.

Mourners laid flowers, made a sign, and lit candles all in remembrance of Toote.

Friends and family wanted people to know that Toote was not just what the media portrays him as. He was more than just his past. He was a loving father, uncle and family man. One mourner says, “He was just a loving person that loved his family and kids and all of his friends, he was a good person and loved everyone and loved his kids and his nieces and nephews, any child that he cared about”

A nephew said that Terry was a “loving father and uncle and very loved in the community.

“Did for everyone and if didn’t have to give, he made sure he found a way to get it and help and that’s all he was doing last night, trying to help someone,” says an unnamed friend.

One person, Nathanial D. Wilson, Jr, has been arrested and charged with one count of murder in the 2nd degree for the stabbing death of Terry Toote, and the investigation is ongoing.

“He didn’t deserve this, we will miss everything about him,” says a family friend.
