Batavia police are investigating a stabbing and a shooting that occurred just before midnight on Central Avenue near Pringle Avenue in the City of Batavia.
According to Assistant Police Chief Todd Crossett, one person was found stabbed roadside on Central Avenue. That subject was transported to UMMC in serious condition.
Another subject was shot and was transported by private vehicle to UMMC with serious injuries.
Police say there was some sort of disturbance in the area prior to the incident.
After an incident on Sunday night at Central Avenue and Jackson where four people were assaulted with baseball bats, police have installed their street camera in the area to better get a handle on what is happening on Central Avenue.
Patrols have also increased in the area and lighting has increased.
State Police, Sheriff’s Deputies and a DEC K-9 also responded to the scene along with Mercy medics and City of Batavia Fire.
