STATE POLICE REPORT/Canandaigua man charged after allegedly taking money from a wallet at a truck stop in Pembroke

On June 1, 2018 at 7:10 P.M., Troopers out of State Police Batavia arrested Matthew J. Hyland, 38, of Canandaigua, for petit larceny.
Troopers were dispatched to the TA truck stop in Pembroke on May 29, 2018 for the report of money stolen from a wallet that was accidentally left at the counter by a customer.

The victim reported that he returned to locate his wallet and was missing $103.00 that was previously in the wallet.

Video surveillance and positive identification lead to development of a suspect.

Hyland admitted to the larceny and that he wanted to return the money to the owner. Hyland turned himself into Troopers at State Poice/Batavia on June 1st.

Hyland was arrested, charged with petit larceny, and released on an appearance ticket and will appear in the town of Pembroke Court in June, 2018.

 

On June 1, 2018 at 11:15 P.M., Troopers out of State Police Albion arrested Zachary A. Clark, 23, of Holley, for DWI.

Troopers stopped Clark on Route 18 in the town of Carlton after driving left of the center markings. Clark then almost struck a guiderail, causing road debris to become airborne. While speaking with Clark, Troopers detected the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage. Clark was placed under arrest after failing multiple field sobriety tests and transported to State Police Albion where he provided a breath sample of .13 BAC.
Clark was issued traffic tickets returnable to the town of Carlton Court in July 2018.

 

 

On May 30 at 5:30 P.M., Troopers out of State Police Albion arrested Matthew P. Parker, 28, of Medina, for welfare fraud 5th Degree.
Troopers were advised by the Orleans County Department of Social Services that Parker did use an EBT card not issued to him to obtain a total of $185.88 in SNAP benefits that he was not entitled to during the month of May.
Parker was issued an appearance ticket for the town of Albion Court for June 2018.
