On June 3, 2018 at 7:30 P.M., Troopers out of State Police Batavia, arrested Michael V. Mathews, 24, of Ontario, NY, for driving while intoxicated, obstruction of governmental administration 2nd degree, resisting arrest, and numerous traffic tickets. Troopers also arrested his passenger. Hannah Schreiber, 24. of Palmyra NY. for obstruction of governmental administration 2nd degree, and disorderly conduct.
Troopers located and stopped Mathews in the Darien Lake parking lot on Route 77 in the town of Darien.
While speaking to Mathews, the operator, Troopers detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage. Mathews and Schreiber became uncooperative and did not comply with verbal commands and physically resisted the Troopers. Mathews and Schreiber were then arrested and transported to the State Police barracks in Batavia for processing.
Mathews refused a chemical test and was arraigned in the town of Darien Court and remanded to the Genesee County Jail on $500 cash and $1,000 bond. He is to return to the town of Darien Court in June 2018.
Schreiber was processed and issued an appearance ticket to the town of Darien Court for June 2018.
