Planet Fitness will open a health club at 4140 Veterans Memorial Drive soon.
The health club will open in the current Peebles location which will be closing soon.
According to the Planet Fitness website, the health club offers $10 per month memberships and is one of the fastest growing health club franchises in the United States.
Planet Fitness was started in 1992 and began to franchise in 2003. They currently have over 1500 locations across 50 states and in Canada and Latin America.
There are several locations in Gates, Greece and Henrietta along with a location in Lockport and several locations in Buffalo.
Chris Rondeau is the Chief Executive Officer and in 2017 Planet Fitness reached the 10 million member mark.
On the Planet Fitness website they say their franchise operations usually employ between 13-18 people.
