On Friday June 15, 2018 about 11:30p.m., Officers performed a routine traffic stop for an equipment violation.
Upon stopping the vehicle it was found that the driver Jeffery Bloomer, 25, of Handley St., Perry, was operating a motor vehicle with a driver ID only. It was also found that Bloomer had 3 suspension dating back to 2014. After showing signs of impairment during field sobriety testing, a drug recognition evaluation was performed by the Wyoming County Sheriff’s department and it was found that Bloomer was impaired and not able to operate a motor vehicle safely.
Along with being ticketed with the equipment violation, inadequate/ no tail lamp , Bloomer is charged with aggravated unlicensed operator 3rd degree, unlicensed operator, DWAI/drugs, Driving While Ability Impaired by Drug/ special, unlawful possession of marijuana, and criminal use of drug paraphernalia.
Bloomer was arraigned in Warsaw Town Court in front of Judge Errington and committed to Wyoming County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash, and $2,000 bond.
Bloomer has a return court date of August 7, 2018 at 01:00 p.m. in Perry Village Court.
On Sunday June 16, 2018 at about 8:00p.m., officers responded to a 2 car rear-end motor vehicle accident on Covington Street in the Village of Perry.
A male operator who identified himself as John A. Czyryca, 66, of North main St., Perry, was observed to have an odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from his person and glassy eyes while speaking with Officer Bliss.
Czyryca performed poorly on subsequent field sobriety tests and refused to give a proper sample on a portable alcohol screening device. Czyryca was placed in custody and transported to the Perry Police Department where he agreed to give a breath sample.
Czyryca gave a sample which confirmed a BAC of 0.11%. As a result of the accident Czyryca is charged with DWI, driving with a BAC of .08% or more, refusal of a breath screening device and following too closely.
He was processed and released on recognizance with a return court date set for August 7, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. in the Perry Village Court.
