BATAVIA/Historic toy store celebrates 100 years

Adam Miller Toy and Bike shop celebrated 100 years in the having fun business with a celebration at their store on Center Street on Saturday afternoon.

Owner John Roche, who has run the historic toy store for about 16 years says he wants to thank all his customers, especially the ones who have been coming to the store for 60 years or more.

Recently, Roche created a Generations Wall for customers to share their memories about the store when they were growing up.
If you would like to share any memories from the last 100 years, now is the time to stop by the store and share them as he will be sealing it up this year with clear coat to make those memories permanent.

The store also sold $1 tacos to raise money for the Don Carroll Toys for Kids fund.

Also on hand was Ann Mohr, who was demonstrating a card game she created called , “I’ve got an Appointment” which provides a fun way to learn the calendar concepts and time of day.  Children get a season/month card and then matching a day and a time card same color/season creating an appointment. When they do, they declare “I’ve Got an Appointment” and win the game.

Mohr says there are now over 55 different ways to play the card game.
