PERRY POLICE REPORT/Mt. Morris woman accused of driving on drugs with three children in the vehicle

A traffic stop was conducted on Lake Street on July 31, 2018, after officers observed a vehicle fail to signal on 3 separate occasions and fail to keep right.

The operator of the vehicle identified herself as Mary R. Martin, 57, of Mt. Morris.

After observing the operation of the vehicle and speaking with Martin, Officers detected possible signs of impairment and asked her to submit to field sobriety testing. Martin performed poorly on the testing and was subsequently evaluated by a certified Drug Recognition Expert.

Following the evaluation, Martin was charged with felony Leandra’s Law DWI (x3) due to having 3 child passengers in the vehicle at the time of stop, DWAI Drugs, DWAI Combo Drugs, and endangering the welfare of a Child (x3).

Martin was arraigned in the Perry Village Court by Judge Miller and bail was set at $250 Cash/$2,000 Bond.

A family member was able to post bail at the court and Martin was released to return to court on September 11, 2018 at 1:00p.m. for further proceedings.

 

 

Brett Wood, 21, of Perry, was arrested at 5:55a.m. on Covington Street after he was found passed out in the driver’s seat of a vehicle parked on Covington Street near Main Street with the engine running.

Wood failed field sobriety tests and his driver’s license was also expired.

Officer Greg Smith charged Wood with unlicensed operator, DWI and driving with a BAC of .08% or more.

Wood was released and is to appear in village court at a later date. Officer Austin Harding also assisted in the investigation.

 

 

On July 29, 2018 around 0500p.m., Officer Spink conducted a routine traffic stop on South Main Street for a speeding vehicle.

Upon stopping the vehicle, it was found that the driver of the vehicle, 44 year old Kerwin Rodgers of Rochester, New York, was operating a motor vehicle with a non-driver id only. It was also found that Rodgers had his license revoked for a DWI conviction dated July 9, 2012 and Rodgers was also operating a motor vehicle without an interlock device.

Officer Spink placed Rodgers under arrest for aggravated unlicensed operator in the 2nd degree and operating a motor vehicle without an interlocked device. Along with the charges, Rodgers was ticketed for speed in zone, and unlicensed operator.

Rodgers was arraigned in Perry Village Court in front of  Judge Miller. Miller committed Rodgers to the Wyoming County Jail in lieu of $250 cash or $2,000 bond. Rodgers has a return court date of August 7, 2018 at 1:00pm in Perry Village Court to answer the charges.

 

 

On July 28. 2018 around 10:00p.m., Officers conducted a routine traffic stop near Lake Street for a vehicle traveling the wrong direction on a one way street.

Upon stopping the vehicle, it was found that the driver, 24 year old, Coty Kitchin , of Corning, New York, was allegedly operating a motor vehicle intoxicated. After performing poorly on field sobriety tests, Kitchin was placed under arrest for DWI. Upon further investigation it was found that Kitchin was operating a motor vehicle with BAC of .08% or higher.

Kitchin was also ticketed for driving the wrong direction on a one way street. Kitchin was released on appearance tickets and has a return court date of September 11, 2018 at 1:00pm in Perry Village Court to answer the charges.

 

 

On July 28. 2018 around 3:00a.m. in the Village of Perry, Officers conducted a routine traffic stop for an equipment violation on South Main Street.

Upon stopping the vehicle, it was found that driver of the vehicle, 21 year old Brianna Robb, of Retsof, NY, was allegedly operating a motor vehicle intoxicated. After performing poorly on field sobriety testing, Robb was placed under arrest and charged with DWI, driving with a BAC of .08% or higher, and ticket for the equipment violation.

Robb was released on an appearance ticket with a return court date of September 11, 2018 at 1:00p.m. in Perry Village Court to answer the charges.
