Kyle E. Evans, 20 of Freedom, NY, was arrested, along with one of his passengers, following a traffic stop on Route 77 in the Town of Sheldon on August 24, 2018 at 11:15p.m..
Evans was pulled over for traffic infractions, and during the traffic stop Evans was found to have been smoking marijuana while driving. Alyssa M. Green, 20, of Arcade, a passenger, was found to have hidden the marijuana inside her bra at the time of the traffic stop.
Evans failed roadside field sobriety testing. Evans was taken to the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office where a drug influence evaluation was conducted by a Drug Recognition Expert. Evans was found to be impaired by cannabis and unable to operate a vehicle safely.
Evans is charged with DWAI/ Drugs, unlawful possession of marijuana, inadequate muffler, unsafe tires, and unlawful stickers on windshield.
Green is charged with unlawful possession of marijuana.
Both were released with appearance tickets to answer the charges in the Town of Sheldon Court at a later date.
The arrests were made during a special patrol associated with the 2018 Labor Day DWI Crackdown Period.
Christopher E. Leonardi, 39, of Arcade, was arrested following repeated complaints over time of excessive noise coming from his residence on August 25, 2018.
Leonardi was alleged to have repeatedly and excessively detonated a binary exploding target in his yard causing disturbances at multiple surrounding residences. Leonardi was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, and he was issued an appearance ticket to appear in the Town of Arcade Court on September 20, 2018 to answer the charge.
The Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office responded to a two car motor vehicle accident with reported injuries at the intersection of Route 77 and Route 20A in the Town of Sheldon on August 26, 2018. Once on location, deputies found Melissa S. Lis, 26, of Buffalo was traveling south on Route 77 and John D. Conley, 45, of Lakeview was traveling east on Route 20A.
Lis was stopped at the stop sign and attempted to cross over the intersection. Conley was not able to stop and T-boned Lis.
Lis was treated at the scene and signed off from further medical treatment.
Conley and three passengers in his vehicle were treated at the scene and transported to the Wyoming County Community Hospital with minor injuries. Lis was issued a citation for failing to yield at a stop sign and will answer the charge on September 17, 2018 at 6:30 P.M. in the Town of Sheldon Court.
