The Batavia Blue Devils came out ready to play in Livonia on Friday night.
On the team’s first possession they strung together several passing plays and marched down the field to take the lead and set the tone of the game without running back Ray Leach who was unable to play because of a school suspension.
They held a 13-7 lead at the half.
In the third quarter, the Bulldogs went back to their well known running game as opposed to the type of game they played in the first half and it paid off. Livonia came out of the gate in the second half and stormed down the field to take a 14-13 lead.
The Blue Devils responded and adjusted to the Bulldog run game and started playing their own run game. At the end of the third quarter they held a 19-14 lead.
In the 4th, Batavia added on an extra TD to give the team some breathing room while stopping the Livonia run game in its tracks.
They held on to win by a score of 26-14.
The Blue Devils are now 2-0 and will take on Letchworth/Warsaw at home next Friday at 7:30
