GENESEE COUNTY/ Rochester man indicted on theft of purse containing credit cards

Jessie P. Polito, 40, of Rochester, has been indicted and accused of the crime of grand larceny 4th(3 counts), a class E felony, after allegedly stealing a purse containing credit cards in the Town of LeRoy on October 8, 2017.

The indictment also accuses Polito of the crime of petit larceny, a class A misdemeanor, for stealing property on October 8, 2017 in the Town of LeRoy.

According to the LeRoy Police Department, the investigation started in October of 2017 when the victim reported that an acquaintance allegedly stole her purse and credit cards in the early morning hours, then used the credit cards in numerous locations in Monroe County.

Polito was eventually identified through video as the user of the cards and a warrant was issued for his arrest. Polito turned himself into the LeRoy Police Department in April.
