A reported night time residential burglary in the Village of LeRoy has led to charges being filed on three youths by the LeRoy Police Department.
The incident, which occurred on September 10, 2018, was reported by the homeowner alleging that unknown person(s) entered the residence during the late night or early morning hours and stole multiple packs of cigarettes while the resident was home sleeping.
A follow up investigation determined that three youths ages 16, 13 and 12 were involved and some of the cigarettes were recovered as evidence. The 16 year old, who was already on a court ordered 24 hour curfew due to unrelated prior criminal conduct, was charged in the LeRoy Town Court with burglary 2nd, a class C felony, and petit larceny, a class A misdemeanor.
The 16 years old was committed to the Genesee County Jail in lieu of bail.
The 13 and 12 year old youths were petitioned to the Genesee County Youth Court.
