OAKFIELD/Memorial benefit planned for Oakfield athlete whose life was cut short after a motor vehicle accident

Tommy Manzella, 24, passed away in a car accident in March of 2018 in Stafford. As a way to honor his memory, Lori and Vince Manzella, Tommy’s parents, are having a Chinese Auction to raise money for Oakfield-Alabama high school sports, which he was very passionate about.

Manzella graduated from Oakfield-Alabama High School in 2012 and was a graduate of Cortland College.

If friends, family or local businesses would like to make a donation or donate a basket for the event on October 20, 2018 at the Oakfield Fire Department,  they can contact the Manzellas at 585-813-6041.

All proceeds will be going to Oakfield baseball, football and basketball sports programs which Tommy was a part of at Oakfield- Alabama High School.

There will be hot dogs, chips and pop at the fundraiser which will run from 1-5p.m.

“As his mom, I want everyone to continue to love him. Tommy was always at school every free time he had. He was a kid who loved helping other kids and pushing them to the best that they can be. He spent his school breaks helping out and even after he graduated college he was at school practice with the kids.”

“It has been a very hard, long six months without him. We decided to continue to do what Tommy would be doing, which is helping kids achieve their goals in sports.”
