Sheriff’s deputies responded to the Village of Alexander on October 13, 2018 at 12:40a.m. for the report of a larceny from a vehicle.
As the deputies checked the area, two people were located walking northbound on Main street. The pair, from 434 East Main street in Batavia, were identified by deputies.
Following an investigation, Mitchell D. Merrill, 33, and Haley M. Merrill, 26, were placed under arrest for allegedly being in possession of stolen property consisting of 5 credit cards and other personal property which was reported stolen from multiple vehicles throughout the village.
Both Mitchell and Haley are each charged with 5 counts of criminal possession of stolen property 4th and 4 counts of criminal possession of stolen property 5th.
Mitchell is being held without bail and Haley is being held on $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond bail.
Both are due back in the Alexander Court on October 16, 2018 at 4:45p.m.
Sgt. John Baiocco, Deputy James Stack and Deputy Andrew Mullen are investigating the larcenies.
