WYOMING COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT/Rochester man allegedly found with an unregistered handgun during traffic stop in Perry

Johnny Jackson, 24, of Rochester, was arrested following a traffic stop on South Main Street in the Village of Perry on October 15, 2018 at 12:15a.m..

Jackson was a passenger in a vehicle which was stopped for speeding. Jackson, who is on Probation with Monroe County, was found to be in possession of an unregistered unloaded handgun, marihuana, scale and paraphernalia.

He is charged with criminal possession of a weapon 3rd (class D Felony), and unlawful possession of marihuana.

Jackson was arraigned in the Town of Perry by Justice Bogart. He was committed to Wyoming County Jail on $2500 bail or $5000 bond. Jackson is due back in court on October 30, 2018. Perry Police Department Officer Greg Smith assisted with the arrest.

 

 

Two subjects were arrested on Bank Road in the Town of Middlebury after Wyoming County Sheriff’s Deputies stopped to check on a vehicle parked in a parking area off of Bank Road on October 13, 2018.

Isaiah J. A. Munroe, 28, was the male driver of a 2014 Hyundai Sonata found parked and running, and the female front seat passenger was identified as Chercal A. Smith, 23, both Batavia residents.

The odor of marihuana was detected upon police approach to the vehicle, and a subsequent search of the vehicle led to the discovery of three Oxycontin pills, one Tramadol pill, and concentrated cannabis, all controlled substances.

Smith was also found to have concealed two pill bottles in her bra containing marihuana and marihuana blunts.

Munroe and Smith were arrested, and the vehicle was towed from the scene. They were both charged with three counts each of criminal possession of a controlled substance7th and Smith was additionally charged with unlawful possession of marihuana.

Munroe and Smith were both arraigned in the Village of Warsaw Court where bail was set on both in the amount of $500.00 cash bail or $2,500.00 bond. Further proceedings are scheduled in the Town of Middlebury Court on October 22, 2018.

 

 

On October 12, 2018, a Wyoming County Deputy observed a vehicle traveling at a rate of 54 MPH in a 35 MPH zone on Main Street in Strykersville.

After performing a traffic stop, the Deputy found the passenger, Bradley Cox, 33, of Warsaw, was wanted by the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s and State Police-Machias.

Deputy Sampson placed Cox under arrest on the warrants and turned him over to Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office.

 

 

Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of Joseph F. Frens, 32, of North Main St., Warsaw on a Wyoming County Family Court warrant and an Attica Justice Court warrant for failure to pay fine.

Frens was arraigned by Wyoming County Family Court Judge Griffith and bail was set at $1000 on each warrant with a return date of October 15, 2018.
