The #6 York/Pavilion Knights defeated #3 Notre Dame 18-0 in the quarterfinal sectional game on Saturday afternoon in Batavia to advance to the semifinals in Class D.
In the first quarter, both teams could not break the 0-0 score.
Late in the 2nd quarter, the Knights got on the board with a long run by Sebastian Hackett, and held a 6-0 lead at the half.
In the second half the Irish threatened to score as they reached the red zone, but a 15 yard penalty sent them out of the zone and they never recovered.
The Knights responded late in the 4th quarter with touchdowns from Nate Swede and Colby Tilloston and shut out Notre Dame 18-0.
York Pavilion will play Canisteo Greenwood at 7:00p.m. at Cal Mum High School next Saturday.
