WYOMING COUNTY/Chimney fire causes $25,000 in damage at Gainesville home

A residence at 4823 Rt. 78 in the Town of Gainesville suffered $25,000 in damages after a chimney fire on November 17, 2018 at 12:51p.m.

A family of four is staying with relatives.

The house is owned by Robert and Monica Krobe.

The cause of the fire was a defective fireplace chimney.

Fire crews from Gainesville, Bliss, Castile, Pike, Silver Springs and Alexander responded to the scene and were assisted on scene by Wyoming County Emergency Services and the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Department. Crews were on scene about 3 hours and no injuries were reported.
