STATE POLICE/Albion/Michigan man arrested for transporting a large quantity of marijuana

The New York State Police in Albion working along with the NYS DEC and Orleans County Major Crimes Task Force have arrested a Michigan man for transporting large quantities of marijuana into Orleans County.

On November 20, 2018, at approximately 12:00 p.m., Troopers out of Albion observed a Dodge pickup truck operating on Rt. 63 in the Town of Shelby with heavily tinted side windows in violation of the NYS vehicle and traffic law.

Upon stopping the vehicle , the operator, William Q. Nowak, 41, of North Adams, Michigan, was found to possess over 100 grams of marijuana, a large quantity of concentrated cannabis in the form of edible chocolate and edible candies made with concentrated cannabis all within his vehicle.

Nowak is charged with the misdemeanor of criminal possession of marijuana in the 4th degree and the felony of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 5th degree.

Nowak was arraigned in the Town of Shelby Court and remanded to the Orleans County Jail in lieu of $25,000.00 bail pending further proceedings.
