One man is dead and two others were injured after a car crashed into a house on Clay street in LeRoy early Sunday morning.
LeRoy Police Chief Chris Hayward says the car was traveling north on Rt. 19, when it failed to negotiate a curve at Wolcott street, and struck a sign and a house.
A male front seat passenger was pronounced dead at the scene. The male driver and another male passenger were transported to Strong Hospital with extensive injuries. One victim was transported by Mercy Flight and the other via ground ambulance.
The two story apartment house suffered damage to it’s foundation and the structure was deemed not habitable by Code Enforcement.
Residents of the 2nd floor apartment were forced to vacate the structure. The first floor apartment was empty.
The State Police Accident Reconstruction Team was called in to assist the LeRoy Police Department who are looking into the cause of the accident.
All three occupants of the vehicle are not from the area. The vehicle had a Canadian license plate.
