GENESEE COUNTY/Brockport man facing vehicular assault charge after crash involving a manure spreader in Byron

Richard White Jr., 37, of High St., Brockport, is charged with vehicular assault 2nd, aggravated unlicensed operation 1st, driving with a BAC of .08% or more, DWI, operating a vehicle impaired by alcohol and drugs combined and following too closely after an investigation into a motor vehicle accident that occurred on North Bergen road in the Town of Byron on February 15, 2019.

According to the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office, the John Deere farm tractor was hauling a Kuhn-Knight manure spreader eastbound on North Bergen road, when a 2015 Dodge Pro Master van, also, traveling eastbound, approached the older model John Deere from behind, striking the rear end of the Kuhn-Knight manure spreader.

The impact caused the manure spreader to separate from the tractor.

White was allegedly operating a motor vehicle while his license was suspended and was allegedly intoxicated and under the influence of a drug.

As a result of the crash, a passenger in the van, Paul W. Tuttle, of Bergen suffered serious physical injuries

White was arraigned in Byron Town Court and was released on recognizance. He will re-appear in court on a later date.
